PRISON VOLUNTEER TRAINING

AVP facilitators and participants entering a NM prison are considered volunteers. Volunteers entering all correctional facilities must have completed a volunteer training and have a badge. Attending a volunteer training session is based on preapproval of an application that includes a national clearance. Applications are available online: https://cd.nm.gov/apd/volunteer_services.html Email us for more information. [After initial training/approval, all volunteers submit a short renewal application annually.]

Dates of volunteer trainings by NM Corrections are also listed on the website above. Click on tabs — both prisons and centers — to find these dates and addresses / e-addresses for sending in applications.
